Short Review: Hey do you remember that these kids had gills, i sure as hell don't SINCE IT WAS ALMOST NEVER MENTIONED TIL THIS DAMN BOOK. Also did you know they were in a submarine, I DO BECAUSE THEY FREAKING MENTION IT A THOUSAND DAMN TIMES! Did you know Max loves Fang, I DO BECAUSE SHE NEVER STOPS TALKING/THINKING ABOUT HIM. Did you know he is trying to make Max jealous by talking to this other girl, I DO BECAUSE MAX COMPLAINS ABOUT IT EVERY 5 MINS!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. Hate it.

Let's Talk Books Thursday!

Sometimes i really hate that fact that 98% of books (or the last book in the series) HAVE A FREAKING HAPPY ENDING. Authors need to embrace messy endings. I would love to see some main characters die instead of getting the girl.

So I'm going with Tragedy!

Monsters of Verity #1

Victoria Schwab

Add to Goodreads

There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from author Victoria Schwab, a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books.

Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed assassination attempt the pair must flee for their lives

The Fangirl LIfe: A Guild to All the Feels and Learning How to Deal

Kathleen Smith

Add to Goodreads

You'd probably know a "fangirl" when you see one, but the majority stay relatively closeted due to the stigma of being obsessed with fictional characters. However, these obsessions are sometimes the fangirl's solutions for managing stress, anxiety, and even low self-esteem. Fangirling is often branded as behavior young women should outgrow and replace with more adult concerns. Written by a proud fangirl, The Fangirl Life is a witty testament to the belief that honoring your imagination can be congruous with good mental health, and it's a guide to teach fangirls how to put their passion to use in their own lives.

Happy Independence Day :D

Embrace Change.

Time for a personal life update :/

Some things have gone badly.

The rocky road my on again/off again relationship of 3yrs as come to a permanent end.

Sometimes you have to hurt yourself in the short run to keep someone from hurting you in the long run.

So with the sad part over with, here's some great news!

I GOT A PROMOTION!!

Finally after applying and failing tons of interviews, i finally succeeded.

The only catch is it's really only a "seasonal" role to see if it's worth the extra cost of having the extra crew in at night, but it could become permanent and either way, it's a great boost to my resume and to my confidence.

I am trying to get my life on a schedule to make sure i am using my time better and getting to do things i need/want to do when i need/want to do them. So I spent a good amount of money on a Life Planner!

I already feel better just filling it out, so here's to sticking to it!

I also am getting back in couponing, it really cheers me up and keeps me busy and my mind needs busy.

I am also going to start making sure i do some Spanish learning from my Duolingo app twice a week, i am slipping there. I am around 40% fluent according to it, i want to increase to 50% by the end of August.

Also starting a new fitness program as well. Idealshape 6wk challenge. I have been drinking protein shakes before work since i walk so much there so i need to step up my exercise! It's a free program, just work out to YouTube videos 6day a week for about 20mins a day. Not bad.

A lot going on. Keeping the blues away and making sure i am productive :D

ALSO BIG NEWS!

I am going to start doing Thursday Throw Down again, i promise to go through with it for sure this time, and to prove that, there will be randomly drawn comments/posts who will win a $10 GC to either Amazon or Book Deposity. :D More to come later this week!

6mth Challenge Check In :D

I think i am doing very well :D

I am hoping to knock it out at the end of July. I read 41 books in June, so it can happen :D

How are you doing on your yearly challenge?!

My New Spirt Animal!

Seriously. I got chills from these scenes.

First the dress! OMG. Amazing.

Second the music! Spot on!

Third, SPOILERS :)

Short Review: OMGEEEEE. I want to stop reading! Please! Ugh. I guess Max has fallen for Fang so badly that the main plot/issue at hand has been pushed to the side. This book was too short. Patterson just wrote it to make money. Glad i only get books from the library. So frustrating.

Short Review: So they found a group of people accepting of them and this Anna girl is like yah i can deal with having all these kids!? No. I feel like the random attacks are not really important, like they have a few pages about it and then move on to them just living, kinda boring.

Why is Iggly leaving the group!? how does his parents just accept that it's him?! Ugh!!! Like they don't want testing done or anything, just hey son, welcome home! Then he just come back 50pgs later, like i'm sure his parents really were like sure leave already... dumb. Then we get that "cliff" hanger towards the end, but really she was kinda falling for Ari then you're going to be like, ha, he's her sister... yuck.

Short Review: Why does every single book need to throw in some romance, really, you go almost all of the book then introduce it?! No, just leave it out, your book was perfectly fine without it. Margg needs to go away, i do not like her. I really like the MC, she was well written and knew how to take care of herself and i wasn't yelling internally at her. Random sex scene near the end, killed me thou. Stop with the romance.

Short Review: I expect a good amount from James Patterson, he's a very well know author, but i feel like he uses that to write shit and then sell it! But that's just my opinion. I have a love/hate relationship with the MC. She is alright, kinda catty, says things that a lot of people would never say. The plot is out there. So they're experiments on the run, but never seems to really run into any trouble, besides 1 attack on them. I find that unbelievable. Iggy breaks my heart being blind, and Angel is my fav, sassy! I'll keep reading but with lower expectations.

MAY CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR PREVIOUS BOOK(S)

We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

It's a slow Tuesday in the book world i guess....

Recommending: Yes

Short Review: You're all aware of my Book 2 Syndrome, well i am proud of Marie, this book does not suffer for that. It does a good job of setting up things for book 3 and tying up a few things from book 1. Jess wasn't really *needed* in this book other than to crush our MCs heart. Arin needs to learn to think before doing things, otherwise he will keep ending up in prisons. Overall, i wouldn't grab this book unless you have book 3 to read right after. I am very angry with her father thou, shaking my head for sure. I do wish the King and Prince were around more as well.
